The contemporary environmental crisis demands the training of professionals with awareness and sustainable practices in higher education institutions. Therefore, the objective of this research was to compare the levels of environmental awareness and behavior among students from thirteen professional schools at the National University of Huancavelica, in Peru. The study employed a non-experimental, cross-sectional, descriptive, and comparative approach, with a sample of 356 students who completed a questionnaire. The results showed no significant differences in environmental attitudes among majors (F=1.245; p=0.250), but significant differences were found in environmental behaviors (F=2.068; p=0.018). Tukey's test revealed that the only significant difference was between Accounting and Primary Education, with the latter achieving the highest level of ecological practices (M=55.58). The study concludes that disciplinary training influences the transformation of environmental awareness into sustainable practices.
