Introduction: Reading comprehension is an essential competence for developing inferential and critical analysis skills in students. In this context, mobile applications represent a technological alternative for strengthening reading processes. Objective: To analyze the contributions of mobile applications to the promotion of reading comprehension in students through a systematic review of empirical studies published between 2019 and 2024. Methodology: A qualitative systematic review was conducted using a documentary design and content analysis technique. A categorical matrix validated through expert judgment was employed. The search was performed across Scopus, SciELO, ERIC, Redalyc, and Dialnet, where 178 records were identified. After the screening process, 20 studies were included. Results: Findings revealed that 65% of the analyzed applications incorporated gamification elements, 55% featured adaptive personalization mechanisms, and 40% included immediate feedback. These characteristics fostered motivation, interaction, and the adaptation of learning to students' needs. Conclusions: Mobile applications contribute significantly to strengthening reading comprehension when they integrate interactivity, personalization, and motivational strategies. Their use can favor the development of reading skills in students across different educational levels.
