Introduction: Psychomotricity constitutes a fundamental pillar of child development, given its influence on the acquisition of cognitive, motor, and communicative skills during the early years of schooling. Objective: To analyze the effectiveness of gross and fine motor skills in the development of literacy among first-grade students. Methodology: A systematic literature review was conducted following the PRISMA framework, encompassing 22 studies published between 2022 and May 2026. The analysis included research focusing on psychomotor interventions, motor development, and the acquisition of reading and writing competencies. Results: Findings evidenced that psychomotor interventions foster significant improvements in writing legibility, fluency, and quality, while also strengthening decoding and reading comprehension processes. Programs that integrate both fine and gross motor activities, with a duration of twelve weeks or more, exhibited greater positive effects. Furthermore, visual-motor coordination was identified as a mediating variable between motor development and literacy performance. Conclusions: Educational psychomotricity represents an effective pedagogical strategy for enhancing initial literacy acquisition. Its systematic integration into the first-grade curriculum can contribute to the holistic development of students, fostering more robust learning processes tailored to the specific needs of early childhood development.
