Introduction: Self-regulation of dietary habits is a component of overall well-being that may influence how students organize their personal resources, manage motivation, and engage in autonomous learning processes. Objective: To determine the relationship between self-regulation of dietary habits and autonomous learning among second- and fourth-semester students in 2025 at the Faculty of Education of the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos. Methodology: A quantitative study was conducted using a non-experimental, cross-sectional design with a descriptive-correlational scope. The sample comprised 200 students selected through non-probability purposive sampling. Relationships between the variables were examined using structural equation modeling, considering model fit indices and structural coefficients. Results: The model demonstrated an adequate fit (χ² = 2.688; df = 2; p = 0.261; CFI = 0.998; TLI = 0.993; RMSEA = 0.042; SRMR = 0.017). Self-regulation of dietary habits showed a positive and statistically significant relationship with autonomous learning (β = 0.573; p < 0.001; R² = 0.328). Significant associations were also identified with motivation (β = 0.411; R² = 0.169) and self-management of learning (β = 0.477; R² = 0.227). Conclusions: Higher levels of self-regulation of dietary habits are associated with higher levels of autonomous learning among university students. These findings highlight the need to integrate dietary well-being and academic self-regulation strategies into university support programs to promote students’ holistic development.
